Our Story: Two Mothers. One Mission. A New Era.
At B4G Academy, we understand that every family’s educational journey is unique. Our mission has always been to empower parents and students to thrive—academically, emotionally, and socially. What started as a local academy in 2017 is now transforming into a virtual homeschool hub of resources for families everywhere.
​In 2017, Inez Nazario-Vega founded B4G Academy after watching her daughter struggle in a public school system that left her feeling unchallenged and distracted by peer pressure. Determined to find a better option, Inez explored homeschooling and virtual learning. Within six months, her daughter was flourishing.

But Inez noticed a gap: many working parents wanted homeschooling for their children but couldn’t see it as an option because of their work commitments and the lack of support systems.
​
With this in mind, she created B4G Academy—a hybrid learning space designed to close the gap between traditional and virtual education, offering support, resources, and a sense of community.
When Paths Crossed

Debra Minshew shared Inez’s vision. As a public-school teacher and mother, Debra struggled to support her 9-year-old son’s needs within the system—even with an IEP. Watching her son battle feelings of failure and depression, she made the bold decision to leave her teaching career and homeschool him.

When B4G Academy opened, Debra’s son was one of the first students to enroll. Inspired by her son’s success, Debra began volunteering at the academy to help other homeschool families.

​The Unexpected Happened

In 2020, when COVID-19 swept across the U.S., B4G Academy—like many other local businesses—had to close its physical doors. By September of that year, Inez made an effort to reopen, but new challenges emerged: many parents were now working from home, and others were hesitant to place their children in group settings. With so much uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, Inez took a bold step—she reinvented B4G’s business model, transforming it into a fully virtual homeschool.

In October 2021, Inez passed the torch to Debra, selling B4G Academy to her trusted friend and fellow advocate.

A New Chapter Together (2025)

In 2025, Debra and Inez reunited as partners, bringing together their shared experiences and passions to reimagine B4G Academy for a new generation of families.
​
Today, B4G Academy is evolving into a virtual homeschool hub—a one-stop resource center for parents navigating the world of home-based education.
