Fall is harvest season—and that means plenty of opportunities to connect learning with agriculture.

Turn a trip to a farm or farmers' market into a learning adventure by having your children ask questions, make observations, or keep a simple harvest journal.
📜 History Through the Season
Fall can also open the door to history.
Explore historical events, seasonal traditions, Native American history, early agriculture, colonial life, or how families experienced autumn in different time periods.
Try this: Pick a historical time period and ask, “What would fall have looked like for a child living during this time?”
What would they eat? What would they wear? How would they prepare for winter? What would school or daily life look like?

You can bring fall into almost every subject:
Math: Measure pumpkins, compare weights, graph leaf colors, or calculate recipes.
Reading: Read autumn-themed books or research a fall topic your child finds interesting.
Writing: Keep a nature journal, write a fall story, or describe a seasonal adventure.
Science: Explore weather, plant life cycles, decomposition, or changing daylight.
Art: Create leaf prints, nature collages, or seasonal artwork.
